The Smart Med Card is a device born from necessity. When Hammill’s wife became increasingly ill with Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD), he started to carry her important medical information on a scrap sheet of paper in his wallet. After his wife was rushed to the hospital in December 2008, both EMTs and physicians commented on Hammill’s ingenuity, and the idea for The Smart Med Card was born.
